2027–2028 Fellowship Program

Two 24-Month Fellowships: January 2027–December 2028

PROSPECTUS
Gallery Route One (GRO) is offering two, 24-month Fellowships to artists ages 21 to 40 who are committed to deepening their fine arts practice and expanding their exposure to the public.

Each Fellowship provides:

  • A minimum of ten exhibition opportunities, including one solo exhibition (Annex Gallery, 2027) and a two-person exhibition (Center Gallery, 2028)
  • A stipend of $1500 to support the production and presentation of work in the exhibitions
  • Mentoring and assistance producing the exhibitions
  • Publicity and promotion for the exhibitions
  • Mentoring, facilitation and support for interactions with the public through events and activities such as public receptions, artist talks, local radio appearances, studio visits, art demonstrations and donor/collector activities
  • On-going exposure on GRO’s website and social media
  • Opportunities to work with GRO’s practicing artist members to curate and install solo and group exhibitions
  • Access to all GRO-sponsored professional development opportunities
  • Eligibility to be hired as a Teaching Artist in GRO’s Artist in the Schools Program
  • Opportunities to build lasting personal and professional relationships with other GRO Fellows, GRO artists, staff, board members, donors, collectors, collaborating organizations and the general public.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age 21 to 40
  • Live/work in the greater Bay Area, commuting distance to Point Reyes Station
  • Have a serious fine arts practice built on training, education and/or experience
  • Have a cohesive portfolio of work completed within the last five years
  • Have a developing focus or a current area of interest, inquiry and/or experimentation for their work
  • Have a desire to develop or expand public exposure for their work
  • Have an interest in inspiring people to experience the world in new ways through art
