Call to Artists

Want to exhibit at Gallery Route One?

Gallery Route One is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, not a commercial gallery. It is operated by a Board of Directors, a small, part time staff and its Artist Members.

Here are GRO’s exhibition opportunities:

  • Become an artist member. Artist members have solo or two person exhibitions every 24 – 36 months. Members support the gallery through paying dues and doing the volunteer work required to operate the art gallery. Applications are reviewed quarterly. Apply through GRO’s website. You will find more information and the application form online in Become a GRO Member Artist below.
  • 2025 Fellowship Program – Application Deadline September 30,2024. Gallery Route One is offering two, 12-month Fellowships to artists ages 21-40, living in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, and working in any fine art media. BIPOC artists are encouraged to apply. Learn more at the Fellowship Program page.
  • Exhibit in our Visiting Artist Program. GRO’s Visiting Artist Program seeks artists who address one of three themes: Environment (climate change and related issues); Social Justice (many themes), and Immigration (borders, diaspora, etc) as experienced by first, second or third generation artists. Find more information and the online application form in Visiting Artist Exhibition below.
  • Annual Juried Show. Now open to artists throughout California. The call for entries is open, see below.
