After a long strange year of loss, and the gift of less distraction, we were compelled to consider what’s essential. This is a bit of a diorama about devotion and divining. It’s a shrine about Asking. I wanted to use earthy materials to evoke form and shimmer; just paper, cardboard, wire, tape, plaster, aggregates, glue, paint. Persistence. The right-side chalkboard is evidence of an ongoing conversation about cows and elk. It’s in chalk to leave room for ideas to evolve.
