Story of the Box
In the height of the Covid Lockdown Jan 2021 we created a Giving Tree in front of our house in San Rafael. We filled it with jewelry, key chains, guitar picks, art, and collectibles to give away to to the neighborhood.
A friend saw our idea and sent us the IG acct #free_little_art_gallery and when we received our box for The Box Show we felt like it was kismet. We just had to turn our box into a Free Little Art Gallery.
The Free Little Art Gallery is a gift for your neighborhood. This diorama is meant to inspire creativity. Take a piece of art and replace it with one that you make yourself and put it in its place in return. **Please leave the people, the bench, the easel, in the gallery.
We have learned that Free Little Art Galleries have sprung up across the US during Covid and we are excited to bring some of the joy of this exchange to West Marin.
The person who procures this gallery should be responsible to Mount it in a public place with these instructions attached.
