Mason, Maggie – I Wish That Every Kiss Was Never-Ending

Story of the Box

“..I wish that every kiss was never-ending” – “Oh, wooden it be nice”
I developed my GRO Box Show concept after listening to oldies on the radio one evening. The first song was “Endless Love” and I was struck by the physical improbability of the line “Two hearts that beat as one”. I then found myself singing lustily with the Beach Boys “I wish that every kiss was never ending” and the title of “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” changed in my mind to “Wooden It Be Nice”. So all those thoughts evolved into an artwork depicting a never-ending kiss and after thinking of all kinds of variations, I decided on a gal and her companion cat, hoping that this will have universal appeal and raise lots of money for GRO.

The exterior of the box displays how love (reverse of box) commands the universe and its power courses through the orbits of the planets, then fires the warmth of the sun’s rays in the shape of multi-colored hearts (sides of box). The rays then converge in a “Heart of Gold “ within the box interior – where kisses are never-ending.
