Addressing the myriad perils of our recent times, Gallery Route One artist Mimi Abers presents an exhibit of clay and cast glass sculptures entitled There is Danger Everywhere: In the Time of the Pandemic. Receiving an MA in sculpture in the late 1970’s, Abers first worked in clay and metal, then began exploring glass in the early 1990’s. After learning both fusing and flame-working techniques she discovered the kiln casting of glass, in some ways an amalgam of her previous kiln work and the making of molds from clay, plaster and wax.
