Metamorphosis, an exhibit by Gallery Route One Member Artist and watercolorist Bernie Schimbke, is a retrospective of the last five years. The visual explorations range from the pictorial to engaging abstractions of the physical world. During COVID isolation, Schimbke’s themes focus on the realm of the less observed. He writes,
“The isolation has given me a way to intensify the application of pigment. The paper seems to give up its brilliant transparency to allow the color to speak directly to the viewer as an interplay of color.”
