Searching for Home presents the work of Kristin Lindseth and Tali Margolin, two artists who work with an awareness of the hardships currently being endured by individuals and large populations fleeing war, economic collapse, political oppression and climate disruption.

Reception

Kristin Lindseth

Lindseth’s sculptures and constructions detail her great grandparents’ immigration from Norway: the difficult Atlantic crossing by ship, and their subsequent struggle to homestead a farm on forested North Dakota land. Her work includes cast bronze ships and highly detailed wooden houses — representing the precarious homes her great grandparents built.

Tali Margolin

Margolin writes, “I left my birthplace many years ago. Since then I’ve changed places, languages and homes. In my mixed media works I deal with the theme of home, immigration and memories, the loss of the familiar and adjustment to new conditions.”
