GRO 40th Anniversary Exhibition Application

Were you ever an Artist Member or Fellow of Gallery Route One?
GRO will celebrate its first 40 years with an
December 9, 2023 through January 7, 2024, including work by past and present Artist Members
All artists who have been Gallery Route One Artist Members (including artists with shared or half memberships*) or Fellows at any time since the gallery’s inception in 1983 are invited to participate in two exhibition opportunities (gallery or online). There is no fee to apply and no fee to participate. Interested artists must enter the form below or contact us via email Anniversary40GRO@gmail.com on or before October 31, 2023. Additional materials sent via email for a “deferred” entry (see form below) must be received before November 15, 2023.
We want to exhibit as many of our past and present members as possible. This exhibition will not be juried. The choice of artwork to submit is yours as long as it is within the size and weight limitations.

- Exhibition Dates: December 9, 2023 – January 7, 2024
- Open House on December 9, 2023 with cake and ceremony at 3 to 5 PM.
- Deadline for intent to participate (with or without image of final work): October 31, 2023
- Deadline to submit Photos of artwork with dimensions and price or NFS: no later than November 15, 2023

GALLERY EXHIBITION AND ONLINE EXHIBITION
There are two exhibition opportunities: Gallery Exhibition and Online Exhibition. Artists may participate in one or both exhibitions. Artists may submit 2 images; one for the gallery exhibition and a second for the online show. A single artwork may be used for both exhibitions. Artist Statements and Artwork images must be received not later than November 15, 2023.
For gallery installation you may submit one artwork not more than 30″ on the longest side, including the frame. For 3-dimensional work the weight limit is 50 lbs. Artwork need not be for sale. Depending on the number of participants, the exhibition artwork will likely be presented salon style.

Artwork must be clean, framed, wired and ready to hang or place on a base. Paint and any other materials must be dry. Each artwork must be clearly labeled on the back or bottom of the piece with the following information:
Phone # and Email address
Title of the work, Medium, Height x Width x Depth, Price or NFS
Cost of shipping artwork to and from the gallery will be at the artist’s expense. Artwork must be shipped in a reusable carton.
NOTE: Artwork packed with Styrofoam peanuts will not be unboxed or exhibited.
If you do not want to ship your work, you may opt to participate in the Online Exhibition only. Size and weight limitations do not apply. Artists exhibiting in the gallery will automatically be included in the Online Exhibition. The same JPEG file format, size and naming convention apply.
Price should include the gallery commission of 35% with the Artist receiving 65%. Artwork need not be for sale, however the exhibition will also serve as a fundraiser for Gallery Route One and artists may volunteer to donate a greater percentage of sales up to 100% to the Gallery. Art sales percentages apply to both online and in gallery sales. Buyer pays shipping costs directly to the artist once the shipping destination is known.
* PLEASE NOTE: This invitation to exhibit does not apply to artists who have exhibited solely in the Project Space (Visiting Artists) or in any of our juried shows, curated group shows or in the Box Show.
