Carletta, Denise – Planted Flags

We all have ways to express ourselves and I have found I could say many things through color, shapes and lines.The object for me isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.
My art comes from the tradition of contemporary figurative drawing, specifically portraits, which I define “as captured moments”.

My subjects sway between a desire to tell a story with the use of metaphors at times, providing an ambiguous meaning.
My challenge is always making the narrative visually clear without overloading it with visual content.

All my pieces are inspired from a personal nature. There is nothing we know better than our day to day existence. We so often miss those divine moments, my work is a collection of those moments.
