Eligibility: All Northern California Artists
Media: All media except video, crafts, installation
Size: Not to exceed 5’ (60”) in any direction
Entry Fee: $15 for each artwork submitted, four artworks maximum
18 Month Artist Fellowships: January 2022 – June 2023
Gallery Route One (GRO) is sponsoring two 18-month Fellowships beginning in January 2022. The Fellowships provide opportunities to participate in a vibrant, nonprofit gallery with an experienced gallery staff and practicing artist members. Fellowships include solo and two-person exhibitions as well as opportunities to participate in Artist Member exhibitions and Gallery Route One’s annual Box Show.
When to apply: April 1– October 15, 2021
Who May Apply: Artists between the ages of 21 and 40 living in the San Francisco Bay Area with:
— A strong portfolio of completed work as well as work in progress
— A committed fine-arts practice
— An interest in and desire to participate in the work of Gallery Route One.
Call for Project Space Exhibition Proposals
GRO is seeking exhibition proposals for the Project Space exhibition area. Exhibitions will take place late 2021 and through 2022. Proposals may be for exhibitions of artwork or installations by one or several artists.
All Project Space exhibitions must address one of three themes: Environment; Immigration; Social Justice. Please read the Prospectus for more information about our themes. Proposals that do not directly address one of these themes will not be reviewed.

Gallery Route One artists believe that art can be a powerful force for change, and that artists have much to contribute to the dialogue about the critical problems we face as a society. The organization includes 20+ artists who support the gallery through dues and volunteer work and who exhibit at the gallery in solo and group exhibitions. Applications are reviewed quarterly.
