With The Earth: Art and the Environment
Thoughtful people everywhere understand that humanity can and should live with respect for the earth and all life forms on our planet. We need to reverse the negative impact of our destructive life ways, restore wherever possible, and create a culture based on truly sustainable practices. A growing number of artists choose to focus their work on our increasingly untenable situation, making art that addresses the largest concerns of our society.
With the Earth: Art and the Environment has been the ongoing focus of the gallery's Project Space Program since 1990. This program presents the work of artists who integrate environmental concerns with the practice of art. We want to give a voice to artists who dedicate their work to environmental awareness and education.
We believe that art is an intellectual and spiritual necessity
that belongs in every community. Our purpose is to provide
a professional exhibition space for artwork and a program
that addresses the cultural, political, and environmental
concerns of our rural community and the greater Bay Area. |
