Artist Statement:
The Chairs are a way to remember in peace…fragrant moments, memories and rust…that is where the duration is…there in the ethereal shadows.
When I feel a surge of energy and growth, I get wild and abandon myself to weedy, botanically derivative, fanciful things on paper. In the Weeds, I call them, using a restaurant term for being slightly out of control. Much of this work is inspired by trips to Point Reyes.
I’m seeking balance, between control and abandon, the silence and the roar, nature and technology, the past and the present moment.
